Knee arthroscopy became my major interest early in my career.  Shoulder and ankle arthroscopy also became my area of interest along  with knee arthroscopy soon afterward. During my academic career I spent one year as post-doctoral fellow at  Yale University Sports Medicine Clinic in USA (Head: Peter Jokl,MD)  between the years of 2001-2002. During my stay, attended arthroscopic  operations and ground rounds, and conducted biomechanical research  on ACL in Biomechanical Laboratory with Dr. Manohar Panjabi.  In 2007 worked as the knee fellow under the supervision of John  Bartlett,MD in Melbourne Australia.   I have been practicing in sports injury field since 1997, and worked with  athletes to prevent sports injuries and consulted teams for injuries.  I have served as consultant physician at Turkish Handball Federation,  National Water Polo Federation, and also various local teams in Antalya

city. Also I have been serving as consultant physician for a super league   soccer team in Antalya (Alanyaspor). I have served as head of the   medical team in Beach Handball World Championship in Antalya in  2010.

I have particularly specialized in wrestling, handball, swimming, soccer,  martial arts, and basketball injuries.

I was assigned to professorship in the Department of Orthopaedics and  Traumatology at Akdeniz University Medical School in 2010.

I have published articles on clinical studies of the knee and ankle,  conducted laboratory research on cartilage and ACL, and have written   international textbook chapters. My primary research area of interest is  the knee and shoulder injuries in sports, human articular cartilage stem  cells, cartilage apoptosis and proprioception and neurologic impact of  ACL injury on the knee kinesiology.  Arthroscopy and ligament reconstructions of the knee, shoulder, and  ankle are my primary focus of interest along with arthroplasty of the  shoulder, hip, and knee.  I have been directing annual knee arthroscopy cadaver courses in  Antalya for several years, and has been assigned as an instructor in

annual advanced knee and shoulder arthroscopy cadaver courses in  Turkey.

I also served as instructor in European Basic Arthroscopy Course  (EBAC) in Istanbul for several times.

I am Board Certified by the Turkish Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and  a member of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology

(TOTBİD), Turkish Society of Sports Traumatology Arthroscopy and  Knee Surgery (TUSYAD), APOA and APKS.

I have served as the President of the Sports Injury Section of Asia Pacific

Orthopaedic Association (APOA) between 2012-2016. During this period  organized the 1st Sports Injury Section Meeting in Bandung Indonesia in  2015.

I also served as the elected president of Turkish Society of Sports  Traumatology Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery (TUSYAD) for the period of   2016-2018.
